NIGHTENGALE BEN-ONYEUKWU
BIBLE TEXT: Nicodemus once went to JESUS and asked HIM
what he must do to be saved. JESUS in reply said to him, “unless a man is born
again, he will not enter the kingdom of GOD” (John 3:1-3)
INTRODUCTION: A good number of people today still
ask or contemplate on what must be done to inherit the kingdom of heaven, which
the scriptural truth, cum answer remains that, no one enters the kingdom of GOD
without being born of WATER, which is the WORD of GOD (Eph. 5:26) and the
Spirit of GOD, (John 3:8). And, by way of information, JESUS is the WAY to
heaven, (John 14:6) and Eternal Life, (1 John 5:11-12). In this connection, if
you wholeheartedly follow the following steps, you will definitely have access
to the kingdom of HEAVEN.
STEP1- You must realise you are a sinner.
The Holy Scripture says:

“ all (including you) have sinned and come short of the glory of GOD,” (Romans
3:23)
·
“If
we claim we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us,” (1
John 1:8)
·
“We
all, like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way” …
(Isaiah 53:6)
STEP 2- You must realise that you can only
be saved by the grace of GOD. The Holy Scripture says:

“For
it is by grace you are saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves,
it is the gift of GOD- not by works, so that no-one can boast,” (Eph. 2:8-9).
·
“For
the grace of GOD that brings salvation has appeared to all men. Teaching us to say
“NO” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright
and godly lives in this present age,” (Titus 2:11-12)
STEP 3- You must realise that you need to
repent. The Holy Scripture says:

“Repent,
then, and turn to GOD, so that your sins may be wiped out” …, (Acts 3:19)
·
“Let
the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thought. Let him turn to the
LORD, and HE will have mercy on him, and to our GOD, for HE will freely
pardon,” (Isaiah 55:7)
·
…
“except you repent, you shall likewise perish,” (Luke 13:3)
STEP 4- You must choose the right way. The Holy
Scripture says:
·
“There
is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death,” (Proverb
14:12).
·
JESUS
answered, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No-one comes to the FATHER
except through ME,” (John 14:6)
STEP 5- You must confess your sins to GOD.
The Holy Scripture says:
·
“He
who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confess and forsakes them
shall obtain mercy,” (Proverb 28:13)
·
“If
we confess our sins, HE is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and
purify us from all unrighteousness,” (1 John 1:9)
STEP 6- You must wholeheartedly call upon
the NAME of the LORD. The Holy Scripture says:

“call upon ME in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you will glorify
ME,” (Psalm 50:5)
·
“call
upon me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you
know not,” (Jeremiah 33:3)
·
“And
it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the NAME of the LORD shall be
saved,” (Acts 2:21)
STEP 7- You must believe that JESUS alone
can save. The Holy Scripture says:

“They replied, believe on the LORD JESUS, and you
will be saved- you and your household,” Acts 16:31
·
Salvation
is found in no-one else, for there is no other NAME under heaven given to men
by which we must be saved,” (Acts 4:12)
STEP 8- you must keep away from bad
company, the Holy Scripture says:
·
Do
not be misled, “Bad Company corrupts good character. Come back to your senses
and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of GOD” … (1 Cor.
15:33-34)
·
“Have
nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them,”
(Eph.5:11)
STEP 9- You must have fellowship with GOD’s
people, as well as always study the Bible. The Holy Scripture says:

“Not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but
encouraging one another- and all the more as you see the Day approaching, (Heb.
10:25)
·
“Study
to show yourself approved unto GOD, a workman that needs not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the WORD of TRUTH,” (2 Tim.2:15)
No doubt, if you are able to follow these nine steps as
itemised above, the LORD will surely grant you victory over sin and Satan.
LET US PRAY
Heavenly FATHER, I thank you for sending JESUS, your dear SON
to die for the sins of mankind, and for the opportunity you have given me today
through your WORD to repent and become your child. Dear LORD GOD of heaven and
earth, now that you have saved me, I pray that you grant me the grace that will
enable me live for you, all the days of my life through JESUS CHRIST our LORD
and BLESSED SAVIOUR. Amen.
NOW THAT YOU HAVE REPENTED
AND BECOME A CHILD OF GOD
PREACH THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS

world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is
baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned,” (Mark
16:16).
PRAY ALWAYS

“Men ought always to
pray and not to faint” (Luke 18:1). Pray without ceasing,” (1 Thess. 5:17).
DON’T
ALLOW ANYTHING SEPARATE YOU FROM THE LOVE OF CHRIST
“Who shall
separate us from the love of CHRIST? Shall famine or nakedness or danger or
sword? ... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM who
loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor
demons, neither the present nor dept, nor anything else in all creation, will
be able to separate us from the LOVE of GOD that is in CHRIST JESUS our LORD,
(Romans 8: 35-39)
